
Case: Development of an application in BIG DATA for multilateral organizations, Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2016 – 2017
At present the access and integration of diverse sources of information is crucial for investigation in different areas and for decision making in organizations. Modern society generates about 7 Zetabytes each year, of which 75 percent comes from the connectivity of individuals to social networks.
Based upon the above, in 2016 and 2017 it was carry out a Pilot test project whose main purpose was to interrelate the data of Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) with another data sources such as World Bank Indicators, OCDE and CEPAL for six countries using their data from last years (2010 – 2015). This will be done implementing a Big Data App for GEM, in which the dashboards of indicators of Adult Population Survey (APS) and the National Expert Survey (NES) surveys were integrated with World Bank Indicators and Algorithms of Sentiment Analysis through Blogs and Twitter.
